Objective tweaks? As in 'objectivist'? Well, I suppose you could turn the volume up. That's about it though AFAIK :)

I am using standard kettle lead onto a dedicated socket in a standard domestic spur. First 'tweak' will therefore be eupen or Yello lead. It sits on Mana stand, on its own feet.

Volume control does seem to matter, but more a reflection on signal from Dax Decade. I have (previously) been feeding into 8000S in poweramp mode, using the digital control on the Dax, but having to set that at -30db to -25db (of -96db to 0db scale) with subsequent loss of some signal. So have in mind some attenuation to benefit, of 20db, say.

Have tried two options with Rotel 1062. First mimics above, setting 1062 volume control at about 12 o'clock. Second, settiing Dax at 0db for full signal and 1062 at between 8 and 9 o'clock, is an improvement; that suggests that pre-amp on 1062 is a good'un.

Both 8000S and 1062 deliver the articulation and resolution from the Dax. The 1062 brings out a lot more in the bass, but on some bass heavy music this can show up the JM Lab Electra 905 which has a floor of 40Hz.
