Serves them right for being a PLC. I am a supporter of United btw, but not a fan.

    "Were going to stop him"
"We'll set up an alternative club"
    "MU is not for sale"
"20,000 of us will never go again"

What planet do these delusional dick heads inhabit?

That's why most football fans hate United, too many hangers on and glory hunters.

What's the difference between a fan and a supporter AT, surely a fan follows and watches, perhaps on tv, a supporter supports, ie financially pays them.

I am a liverpool fan, but at least united do play exciting football and are a good natured side, ie not many vicous fouls, despite having keane. credit where its due.
time for fergie to go tho' he's lost it.

goin to be very ineresting, good on glazer...hope they go bankrupt :D

Glazer's loan situation means, by all accounts, that the club will be expected to increase its profitability.

Football (soccer) is definitely on a major up in the US and if Glazer intends that ManU's extra $$$ will come from the US then all well and good.

However, the fear is that ManU negotiate separate TV rights for themselves outside of the Premier League's TV rights. If this happens then no doubt Arsenal, Chelsea and perhaps Liverpool, Tottenham, Newcastle could do likewise but the rest of the league would get diddly-squat from future TV rights.

The current two-tier Premiership is bad enough. Individual TV negotiations would spell the end of UK football as we know it.

By comparison, the future of Ferguson and Keane couldn't matter less.

The current constitution of the Premier league prevents them doing this. If they try they may find themselves expelled from the league and selling rights to televise diddly squat!

The one where you stop supporting a team once it starts losing matches, like my nephew who about 5 years ago switched from supporting Everton to supporting United because 'Everton never win anything'. Watch United's fan base collapse as they slide to the middle ranks of the Premiership next season.

Why is this such a bad thing? Apart from very dodgy hair and wearing his pants WAY to high hes a successful bloke. Surely he needs the team to perform on the pitch to continue the success?? I dont think you can compare the situation to Leeds Utd, they just went silly borrowing money they could never repay and buying players on stupid contracts. I know the 'experts' are saying he's payed over the odds for it but Im not sure. Either way I couldnt care less, although my two teams, Blackburn & Wigan WARRIORS could do with a few quid in the coffers.

At least we may get some variation on the 'Chelski' jokes:

    :JPS: Manchester United?

    Salford Quay Buccaneers!
    or
    Manchestershire Black Sox!
    etceteras...

    Quotes from the bbc newspage:

"He's not turning up with a suitcase full of his own cash and he is, in effect, asking Manchester United fans to pay for his takeover, to pay for increased ticket prices and increased merchandising," said spokesman Oliver Houston.

"We feel completely betrayed by John Magnier and JP McManus."

What a load of cobblers - JP Macmanus et al poured loads of dosh into ManU, bloody well generated a lot as well - now they are cast as the betrayers. ManU scum fans are too fickle - and they do mostly live in London. Twats.

Increased merchandise? What does it matter? ManU have been bleeding that one dry for years - the most strip changes of any club I know of! They have been putting the pressure on little Timmys parents to keep forking out for new shirts 2-3 times A YEAR!!! - And only NOW they start to act worried about merchandising!!!!

ManU supporters make me laugh. Bloody scum.

I am a Leeds Fan BTW:) - Hope Glazier sells Rio to Chelski (even tho they dont need him), Smithy to Villa or Newcastle.

    rant over //lamboy
