    Back OT then.

What we are really talking about here is the 'Hudood Ordinance' and its partial repealing by the 'Women's Protection Bill'. Both laws enacted by the internationally recognised sovereign state of Pakistan.

The contempt with which these laws are held is shared by many Islamic nations and organisations. I don't see the hand of God in these laws. I see the hand of men subverting the laws of Islam for their own ends.

By using the terrible execution as an opportunity to malign Islam, you are also maligning those members of that faith who are tirelessly campaigning to have these atrocious laws fully repealed.

Up to your usual standards, I should say.

A foul act has been undertaken, with religion at its very core. Mankind makes god, then uses it as a stick.

Think of it as an ad hominem attack on religion from the usual suspect ;)

The act deserves your righteous indignation, Devil. Using it to side-swipe all things 'God' and 'religion' is not justified.

So everyone thinks this murder was non-religious?

I'm amazed at how tolerant you all are.

    In all probability it was.

But you cannot make the case that all religion is a bad thing because some people choose to do awful things in the name of religion.

Using that argument you could say that all science and medicine is bad because Dr Mengele and others comitted atrocities in the name of medicine and science.

The first rule in medicine is primum non nocere, first not to harm. So Mengele did not commit his crimes in the name of medicine.

But if you read the bible, for instance, you will find it a bloodthirsty and revolting document. Religions are rackets run by people who want power and wealth, supported by the unthinking.

I think it very interesting that you seem to have access to my deleted post some time after I removed it.

What exactly is your relationship with ZG James ? Do you have access to the moderation control panel. Or did some one retrieve it for you?

    Very interesting indeed......

Hello Guards Chat.....care to comment ?

    Guilt by silence.....

So you have access to the control panel.....

    Fellow ZG members take note.

The reason for James lack of being moderated is finally revealed.

    So to sum up.

if they were shot for being adulterous, that was overkill, if they were shot in the name of religion for the same 'crime' then it's worse.

But in reality that video clip could have been me and a few of my raghead mates off my street messing about on the footy pitch for all its proven authenticity.

Frankly if they want to fail to stand up to people like that then it's their look out for being piss weak, if it was happening at the end of my street i'd be breaking necks.

If you read the bible, you will also come across the Ten Commandments. Regardless of their real source, they are the 10 basic rules from which all other rules in Christianity and Judaism were created. The first commandment and therefore, arguably the main rule of christianity and judaism was "thou shalt not kill" which is, you must agree, a pretty sound rule to live by.

You are showing a bit of inconsistency here:

    On one hand:

Someone has a distorted view of medical ethics. They commit atrocities in what they consider to be the name of medicine and justifiable within their distorted perception of what is right and wrong. But ignore them; medicine is good because the key tenet is good.

    But then on the other:

Someone has a distorted view of religion. They commit atrocities in what they consider to be the name of religion and justifiable within their distorted perception of what is right and wrong. Ignore the fact that the key tenet is good, focus on the people who misinterpret religion.

I completely disagree actually David. The Devil (and I assume 'tis he to whom you are mostly referring) is consistent, logical, forceful and forthright in his comments and often seems to revel in the discomfort and indignation that they provoke (the results of which make really good reading ;)), but I actually agree with a lot of what he says and am glad that he says it, as a lot of us are probably too polite to do it.

So why the mealy-mouthedness? These Taleban were doing god's work and should be celebrated.
