    Dear All,

Not sure what the etiquette of this is, but I thought I'd best let folks know that I ought now to be considered trade rather than a punter as I've given up the day job and started a hifi related business.

That's why I've not been posting much lately.

    Unc.

PS. For the moderators - Couldn't find anything in the AUP, but what are the guidelines for folk in the trade posting to the forum? No blatant advertising I know, but anything else?

What are you doing in the "business" now then.

There, it 's become a discussion now (not an advert) so I guess that's OK for the forum??

    I see...

    Cheers Chris,

I posted a similar MS to Pink Fish, but it came down immediately as it was felt it constituted advertising (fairly enough I think).

Just wanted people to know that they can no longer believe a word I say on the subject of liquorice pancakes and the playing thereof :)

    UA,

if you read the AUP on PF, you can see they have a 'Trade Announcements' room for that, and it costs 50 quid a year for the privilege of posting there and in the commercial classifieds.

Over here, the distinction is less clear cut, but I still tink it would be appropriate to contact a mod about this.

Good luck in your new venture!

UA - good luck with the venture.

Love the business name and your site seems pretty good to me - easy to navigate etc, however, having read your vinyl -v- CD debate section i would take issue with my preference for CD remote control possibly marking me as a couch potato with short attention span :D :D

    Regards

    Chris

I can be considered "trade" so it will be less clear cut....

Basically don't take the mick. You've put your business credentials in your sig, so people know the point of view you're coming from, and don't answer every post with "buy so-and-so from me" and there won't be a problem.

You may have noticed that I tend to avoid threads about switching amplifiers in particular, since anything I say on a competitor's product would be seen as biased, and I'm also privy to a few inner workings (both technical and people) that aren't for public consumption.

    Hi Uncle Ant,

Good luck in the new business. I hope it goes well. Are you planning to sell any other products? What about selling vinyl?

The site looks well laid out.

Aha. So I shall add the "keep fit" angle to the pros of vinyl against CD in that section then. :)
