    Any good clubs in Manchester?

    Hello...

I'm out and about in Manchester centre on Saturday night and was wondering if any of you locals could point me in the direction of a good club to go to.

Looking for a wide range in music.. from funk to soul to house to disco to cheese :D .

All under 1 roof? is it possible?

    Many thanks

    Chris.

Clint Boon's Disco Rescue at South, if I were young enought that's what I'd go for

Yeah if you're into soul South may be your best bet. Its a smallish venue though and but its happy enough. The clientel is tend to be 30 somthing young professionals. I am not sure where else to suggest as most of the places I go to are indie clubs.

I know the bars around Deangate locks play a lot of soul/funk/house so it might be worth visiting the bars round there before heading for your club.

You're never too old for clubbing especialy at the Ritz, but then thats probably best avoided :D

Places like South are perfect for the more diserning clubbers as its not about pulling or getting drunk so much, the music plays a big part. However I am 22 and already feel too old to go into clubs like 5th Ave with all the 17 year old sixth formers.

Do you know the Garret pub on Princess Street round the back of the BBC? There is a small road that goes next to it, opposite that is 5th Ave. Its about 50 yards from the old Factory Head Quarters. Its actually on Princess Street, 101 to be exact.

5th av. always has been and always will be a nightmare. Me I prefer a good meal or a gig for a night out these days. I did so much clubbing in my twenties that it doesn't really appeal anymore now I've got a wife, mortgage and dogs etc.... Must be getting boring.

The Deansgate locks are excellent, Loaf in the Printworks is pretty good as well. I often go in there for a few beers

I prefer a gig too, I spend quite a bit of time down at the Acadmy, I also like to go clubbing aftwards though. I find 5th Ave is ok if you're in a large group but if you're just with a mate then the smaller venues are much better.
