Good DAC for $300 or less?

    Anybody know any good DAC's for under 300?

    I would like it to have a USB in and an Optical/digital coax in.

    You could get a Behringer SRC2496 for that sort of money. It has AES/EBU, Coax and Optical inputs. It sounds pretty damn good for the money. At a later date if you want to improve it I offer modifications for them that really step their performance up to another level. www.audiosmile.com/src2496.htm

    I think you are unlikely to get a good DAC with USB input for $300. £300 is a more realistic budget. (This forum is mainly UK based)
