Get WM to make you something, or come across to Europe and try some out. TBH the second option would be best then you would know you were getting what you wanted

    30 amp cooker cable at 50p/m :D
I've tested it against offerings from Transparent and Siltech (not a blind test, and I am a sceptic :JPS: ), and could discern no noticeable difference, apart from the expensive ones being prettier and easier to handle...
However, my sense of perceived value may be different to yours, and I may be deaf as a post (all those years sound dubbing at Auntie Beebs!)

The VDH revelation is an excellent cable imho although I would say that as I use it myself. It does the things you want in my system which is Bryston/PMC. I would look out for a secondhand set as it is bloody expensive new and maybe difficult to audition before buying. I bought 4 x 4m for about £250 off ebay.

The VDH revelation is really average. I believe there's an EX Revelation user on ZG that may shed some light on it for you.

I am an EX revelation user, and I would say that it is a very good cable. Not the absolute best, but very close. Even at its full retail price it is sensibly priced compared with some of the high end offerings - Nordost Valhalla, Transparent XL. However secondhand, it becomes a veritable bargain. Note that ALL cables need to be matched to a system so YMMV.

I agree you that vdh is average but my system is not on fadel art level and i think it's more logical to buy vdh for my dynaudio 82.
if i use fadel art coherence i will need contour series or a good speaker like system 7 and a better power like ML.
i think at 700$ this cable (for 2.5m) is not bad.

Surely, it must sound completely different from either Nordost or Transparent?? I have also found v.d. Hul pretty dull and unspectacular, but with a spiked top and flabby lows. Very listenable in most cases.

I do agree with Dcathro, it is an individual synergy thing with ALL cables more so the upper ones.
The VDH Revelation is not a particuarly bad, its not that special either, it just sits well in a wide varitey of systems (easy patch if you like).
Gnereally it's bass performance is disappointing, both in extension & control, however its rounded and on the easy side of warm. Then I could say the same of a fair few cables LOL!!
Acoustic Zen, Shatori shotgun & Audience Au 24 easily dispatch it.
The upper portion of the sounds can be 'ectched' which is why maybe a few users have gone on to Valhalla ;)
This season I have listen to the revelation in 4 systems, ALL of them have changed their speaker cables since I have listened.
As for Valhalla, 7 clients this season have upgraded for lot less
    Quote from a client
    "Tones

Safely in the system. Very very impressive. Beats valhalla very easily, and has a very fluid sound as well which I was not expecting. "
Though your point of Synergy is most pertinent Dave

I won't comment on VDH cables in general, only "Revelation".

The Revelation is not dull, it is tonally pretty nuetral. It's strengths are: A very bouncy meaty warm full sound, good dynamics, good detail. It's weaknesses are: slightly ragged at the frequency extremes, slightly metalic treble. Ten years ago this was a state of the art cable, today it is not. But I sold my revelation 4 sets of 4m for £250. Some people got a great bargain.

Transparent XL is a very good cable. It is also tonaly nuetral, with its strength being a very refined top end with great sound staging. It is probably better than the Revelation, but then at the price it ought to be.

Nordost Valhalla does not work in my system. It is thin and bright with incredible top end detail. All the synergy and timing in my system are lost with this cable. I am sure that it works well in dull systems, or for people who love detail.

    Best Regards

    Dave
