I must admit Bub and Marco do remind me of an old married couple, they hate each other but need each other at the same time.

Such is the complexity of relationships.

I just wonder what the result would be if you merged their personalities and traits.......this could become very complicated.

    Regards

    Mick

<< Systems off Mana are now well-nigh unlistenable to me - just too artificial-sounding.>> Funny. For me its systems on Mana - for the same reason. Its a good room-boom tuning device though.

Having listened to a few pairs of proacs of late, I am going to describe my impression of what I am forming to be a house sound. tell me if you disagree..

they are slightly bright in the upper mid, and leads to some thinness sounding, and 'silvery' emphasised vocals, but not especially harsh, in the extreme treble they are less extended than some.
the lower mids are a tad laid back, and doensn't give me the rich resonant inner voices I like to hear, can sound a bit congested, bass is warm, fullsome, but does again err on the congested side..very much a typical valve amplifier sound. Has a very odd thing which I can't describe, a certain rightness to the soundstage and tonality in the critical region, probably due to the crossover, which is very similar on most prozacs.

I believe that should be 'ferret' to go with your Naim 'flat caps'. Apparently it's the equipment of choice in the North.

Yes, but since you were unsuccessful at getting Mana to work optimally in your environment, what you describe is not particularly meaningful to others.

    How would you know, Alex?

    Marco.

    P.S Ever used Hutter as a suppository :p ;)

    Marco,

Think speakers, laws of physics and defiance thereof - it'll be better for your soul. ;)

    Yes, Steve, you're right.

I'm quite willing to do this if some folks will not insist on dragging up the past, and if others will not come on forums elsewhere and make inane remarks (which have since quite rightly been deleted) ;)

    Hehe :p

    Back to the plot then...

    Marco.

Marco, I've heard lots of Mana not just the Mana in my system.

Anyway, thought of using Mana spikes to solve your anal retention?

That doesn't automatically mean it was performing optimally when you heard it, does it?

    Marco.

P.S The spikes are in now...strangely, I'm growing rather fond of the sensation.

    Marco,

You're beginning to sound like someone else... :D

I'm glad I get spared this myself. ;)

Think drive units and deep, tight and tuneful bass even from little ones.

    **To Satan**

Do you realise how pathetic that sounds, and also your other idiotic nonsense before it? James, you used to be a formidable opponent in our little, shall we say, forum 'disagreements'; unfortunately now you're just a sad case.

I can assure you if you're talking about funny things to be laughed at nothing comes close to the side-splitting hilarity of some 'classic' answering machine tapes of you 'filed for posterity' in a certain house in Anglesey :D

Now run along and play with whatever friends you have left.

    Marco.

Marco & James - FFS get a life! This started out as a speaker thread and then descended into a Mana debate and now it's just you two having your private little war again

No one else gives a sh1t :inferno:

That's absolutely fine by me, Michael. If you look at the time difference between Satan's comment and my reply, you'll notice that I wasn't bothering with him until I noticed his remarks.

I think it's time I reactivated my 'ignore' facility ;)

    Regards,
    Marco.

The comment I made in the "Mana" thread also applies here. Since youre so desparate to have the last word you can, with James, but not with me :) Thread closed :MILD:
