I've been after a tuner for my system for a while and didn't really want to pay £180 for the matching NAD C422 for my system. Had a look on Audio T's website and I noticed that the Portsmouth branch had a used Rotel RT-940AX.

These were built between 1995-2001 and retailed for aroubd £235. I paid £70 for mine, with a two-year warranty. I'm not able to put up a dedicated FM aerial where I live, so I'm just using the suppied aerial with it. The sound is excellent - clear and detailed, with none of the horrible compression that you seem to get normally with tuners.

Hi, nice to see you are enjoying your new tuner, I just got an old marantz 2100 off ebay, just because I wanted something different, with a traditional smooth sound... :D

A long overdue piccy - I've changed ISPs (got broadband finally) and have only just got round to taking and uploading it:

Using the supplied 'wire' aerial with it and it sounds rather good. None of the compressed sound I've heard with FM before.
