Anyone heard the new single, Freakin Out? (If you listen to Xfm you won't have been able to avoid it). Dunno if they've been playing it on Radio 1.

Absolute sheer punk pop brilliance - its catchier than the plague :D. He's finally stopped fannying about being miserable and I think shown why Blur were a great band with him in it and aren't now he isn't.

Unfortunately the contrary bugger has only released it on limited edition 7 inch vinyl  so I doubt he'll make it to TOTP.

They might, but maybe sold out now. Paula, my other half, got a copy at Virgin on Oxford St. Monday Morning. A friend asked her to get a copy after she'd got back and Virgin had sold out when she went back in the afternoon. She got a copy at Selectadisc in the end.

Only 2500 copies apparently in toto. Quit a few going on ebay yesterday and prices not gone mad just yet, but my guess is they may do in a couple of weeks.

IMO Think Tank is a great album! Track after track of great tunes! It's a change of direction, but on that was needed to stop them going stale.

One of the best albums i've heard in a while IMO

DAMN YOU!!!! I just HAD to get this from HMV online - talk about fleecing on postage costs!

Oh well - should be worth a crack for £2.99 (yep - a FULL QUID for postage - cccccrazy!)

    Witness - exhibit A - why owning a turntable is VITAL :)

Not yet heard this one, but am very much looking forward to the album. He's done a few solo efforts now, four or five in total I think, and all are reputedly excellent. I saw the Graham Coxon Band at Leeds Festival in 2000 and they were great, one of the real highlights of the festival, didn't know anything they played but they gave a great show.

For one reason or another(I broke my turntable) I hadn't had a chance to play this until yesterday - used it when playing with my 'new' speakers, and what a killer tune!

Thank you, Uncle Ants, for the recommendation - now I have to splash out £25 for me and my lady to see him live....

This is on a tv advert. Can't remember which. Just incase those who haven't managed to hear it might be interested :D

It didn't leave any long lasting impression on me. Catchy and all that yep. But nothing great IMO

Ah yes, but I'm sure he'll be worth it :) Going to see him at The Rescue Rooms with mine. Shouldn't think I'll get a word out of her all night - she has a thing about speccy, nerdy looking blokes - and whilst I fit the bill, Coxon is the ubernerd and she'll just go all swoony.

How did you break the deck?

Pure clumsiness, unfortunately - I was doing some lead swapping to try and work out which bit of the vinyl rig was causing a ground hum I was getting, and managed to snap off a cartridge tag in the process. Took me ages to source some reasonably priced cartridge tags that'd fit, but got some in the end and resoldered the tags earlier this week - sorted out the ground hum in the process too, so I'm guessing those 20 year old tags on the Syrinx were a bit past their best. All sounding lovely now, though, so I'm a happy bunny again, especially as I have some speakers that now mean I can give up on the box swapping and get back to the (car boot sales...) music.

Have you thought about sending the above to Mr Coxon as a possible title for a future album? It's got a nice ring to it, don't you think?
