Seem to have got MOself onto their mailing list a while back.

Looks like mighty pertty kit, with a price tag to match I'm sure.

    Any good though?

It's great for people who can't tie laces.

Oh sorry I thought you said Velcro ;)

if you don;t mind paying 15k for a pre and 30k for a power amp (iirc) then they're fine. well actually most mags say they're not that special (and i'd have to agree with them after hearing them at a couple of shows) still i'm sure they'll appeal to some.
    cheers

I heard a full Halcro setup with some Sonus Faber Stradivaris at a demo recently and was distinctly underwhelmed.

Well it's got no bearing on whether it's any good..but the Halcro gear got as close to a negative review as I have seen in print (Martin Colloms, over two recent issues of HFN). Comments included noting that merely plugging the preamp in degraded the sound of the rest of the system, and in precis, it can't convey a tune.

Maybe the Halcro gear is a classic issue of pursuing measurements (which are truly, extra-ordinarily good) over any other form of satisfaction. That's not meant to be a secondhand condemnation - I'd really like to hear the gear. At the price though, I couldn't buy even if I liked it :(
