Adding a little chocolate to chilli is actually surprsingingly effective.

I've tried cheese with choclate chips in it.

I'd been told they were rabbit droppings and after much drink and persuasion I was willing to try it (thinking it was the rabbit crap).

Can't really remember what it tasted like.

i read somewhere that chilli might increase metabolic rate so i got to a-wondering :shame: . i had heard it went well with chocolate so i may try some in some hot chocolate too.
it didn;t actually taste too bad in coffee but i think i put a smidge too much in - needs refinement but shows promise.
    cheers

    closer than you think

Have you tried green tea , Julian ?
Supoosed to increase metabolic rate by up to 4% , and cleans impurities out of the system .
I,m currently drinking Tetley green tea with lemon and it,s quite a refreshing drink .

A few months ago I bought a bottle of "Insanity Sauce" from Tesco. The label on the bottle said that it was the hottest sauce in the Universe and I can confirm it was the hottest thing I've ever eaten. One teaspoonful into a 12" dia saucepan half filled with pasta sauce was too much. I couldn't eat it. Obviously I've since used it in moderation. :D

Unfortunately, they've stopped selling them now because of complaints :(

excellent. when i lived in texas there was this kind of macho thing about eating chillies. one bunch of mates used to buy a pizza and then see who could eat a slice with the most habaneros on it - evil f*cking things they are.
also i once met a guy when i was camping who ate raw jalopeno's dipped in salt - but then he did crush up and snort his brain medication too so what does that tell you.
i wouldn't claim to be invulnerable to hot sauces but i have built up a modest tolerance.
funnily enough most if not all the texans i met were susceptible to english mustard and wasabi (i find them quite similar in heat and taste) and a bunch of friends were shocked as i ate gobs of wasabi with my sushi in the local sushi restaraunt. whereas i was horrified by their habanero eating prowess.
    cheers

Interesting theory. I asked my friend from India but she never heard of anyone putting chillies in their coffee yet. You might have actually discover a novel combination. There is a takeaway in Glasgow which make a very good pizza top with a yummy spicy meat curry. I was not convince until ate it a few months ago. It is one of my favourite slightly unusual snack now especially with extra toppings of cheese.

i seem to have a gift for this kind of thing. when i lived in yorkshire i 'invented' the pineapple, peperoni and donner kebab meat pizza with garlic sauce. mmmmmm (homer style drool gargle) garlic sauce.....
i'm now going to give the hot choc and chilli a go... have tried hot choc with cardamom pods before and that was very nice....
    cheers
