Well, three numbers and no fire (but a nice warm glow from the WKD and about 15 pints!) is a nice feeling; there were a fair few chalets there that would have done up a treat - bonfires rule...

Well Dom, if you're a WKD man, may I make a suggestion ?

1 bottle of WKD mixed with 1 measure of Port  .
It's called a "Crazy Vimto". Plenty of ice as well.

Now I understand that mixing alcohol is at your own risk and can be dangerous so please ask for permission before you try :p .

A friend of mine from Falkirk (that figures  ) introduced me to it and it is quite bizarre. It does taste VERY much like Vimto (a purple/red coloured fruit drink; for the uninitiated) and doesn't appear to produce any nasty side-effects. OK, maybe drunkeness but not blootered :D.

    Give it a go - you'll be surprised ;) .

Me and port have a bad history... I nearly got barred from my old college when a mate got bladdered on it (we had to carry him back!!!).

I might give it a go though - Vimto was nice!

Yep, it was an extremely great weekend, spent far too much money but it was bloody good fun! Good atmosphere, company, lots of drink, numbers on the beach and some great scenery. Got to go back down there soon, maybe for Run To The Sun weekend, if not before.

Can you still buy Vimto? That stuff was excellent. The "Crazy Vimto" sounds like an interesting idea, even though I generally can't stand port I'd be tempted to give that a go!

Thought you were about to say that it was an extremely cold weekend, because it was! :p But it was good despite that! :) Even the breeze that was going through town this afternoon as I was out and about felt decidedly warm by comparison. :JOEL:

Think you can still get Vimto, although I've only seen (and bought) Vimto cordial (rather than the fizzy pop in cans) recently.

Was it Vimto (maybe ribena) that had a big backlash after it became public about it's animal testing involvement?
