Hi.. new to the forums... was suprised to find a mainly UK based hi-fi forum.. all the ones i mainly use are USA based so is nice to have a local.. heh

anways i was wondering if theres and people here that could maybe help with building a headphone amp, possibly a portable Pimeta or similer?
Quite a few ppl over at Head-fi can do it but all based in USA so postage/customs can cause problems..

Is no prob if not..but thought id put the question out there in case :)

    thanks for any help!

There's a fair few people here handy with a soldering iron. Welcome to the forums!

    Whereabouts are you based?

You would probably be okay if you bought one of the Pimeta PCBs, you only have to solder the parts in the labelled gaps :)

im based in leicester.... as for soldering,,,,, me? thats just a bad idea.. :)

idealy id like sumthin that can power both my HD580`s when im at home.. and still be portable enough to use with my MP3 player and portapro`s / ksc75`s..

was reccomended something running off 2 x 9v batteries.. dont know how viable this is though... might end up having to get 2 seperate amps made ;/ wish i could afford the M-hornet :)

um.. mainly because i wont have any control over what goes into it?
Certain opamps work better with certain cans...and certain other things can be adjusted to make a amp specificaly suited to certain headphones.... noy an option u get buying pre made stuff..
