Experience has told me to always go for the big Jap brands or Samsung for DVD recorders. Although Lite On does have experience in optics I am not sure how good they are at the software.

I would be worried about the reliability of it.

    Lite-on

I'm fairly certain that my cd & dvd drives on my home computer are Lite-on.If so, i would imagine that there wouldn't be much,if any, problems.
It certainly warrants further investigation at that price.

p.s. is this the company that invented the slogan"What is the difference between Lite and hard? You can sleep with a Lite-on!!
    :D :D

A failed recording could be worth that :)

If it's that critical use a professional recorder and pay the appropriate price. Of course reliably is guaranteed with such kit:D.
