    Hi,

I have bought Monitor Audio speakers and one of the tweeter has small oval marks:

The owner explained that he is the first owner and that the tweeter had never been touched. Is it possible to find such marks on a new speaker?
I am afraid that the marks will affect the price of the speakers when I want to resell them (It could potentially affect the sound too).

    thanks for your help!

Could it just be oil or something on the surface? Maybe it was touched but never damaged (perhaps touched during construction?).

Give it a very gentle clean with a slightly damp soapy water cloth.

Get him to lower the price, then install a new tweeter.

Well I have already bought the speakers (thanksfully through Paypal) and noticed the mark right after taking the spk out of its box.
The marks are not as visible on the picture than they are for real - definitely not a kind of stain.

Would you pay less if you were buying speakers with a dome as per the pictures?

Just a quick update and the ending of the story: Paypal asked me to provide a 3rd party diagnostic, which meant I had to bring the speaker to a reputable shop that reported the problem, and then I send the speakers back to the seller after Paypal closed the file in my favour. Sooo relieved!
I will be more careful next time!

Glad you got the result you wanted.............but was it an aesthetic issue, I don't imagine there was any problem with the sound?
