I haven't played my Debut III for a couple of weeks but today I fired it up while the wife's out. Some loud Prog being the choice when alone.
During the quiet bits I could hear, what I could only describe as a 'forward echo' ie. faintly hearing what was about to play.
    This is obviously not right.
What has caused this ? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

This is "pre echo". This is due to the cutting head transfering information into the previous as the record is cut. If the groove is bunched together then it can be noticed. Can happen when they put a lot of music (time) on one side of an LP.

Interesting. I hadn't noticed it before today.
At least it's nothing I have done.
    Thanks.

also heard this and was told it could be print through from the master tapes ....if master tapes were used and its not straight from a digital source ..

    Thanks all.
I wet clean all my vinyl with a Disco-antistat but that doesn't seem to have made a difference here. So we are back to a mastering problem. All but a few of my records are original much loved 60s/70s/80s pressings, so pre-digital masters. Maybe the last couple of tweeks have made the problem more noticeable.

don't be disheartened ...your getting more off your vynl than most !

i you think the last couple of tweaks are making things worse then try going back ...but as I've said this is an aspect that you will have to live with if its "recorded" onto the black disc .
