One of the channels on my musical fidelity xp100 pre-amp seems to have died... the left channel is fine but there's just a faint scratchy signal coming through the right hand one.

It did this a few weeks ago, but then seemed to right itself after I reconnected some cables.

But the problem seems to have returned.

Have ruled out cables, power amp and source as problems by doing a bit of swapping around.

Could it be a loose connection to one of the terminals or might it be something more complicated?

There is a signal coming through the "dead" side, just very faint and kind of scratchy.

If I can avoid sending it off to MF that would be good.... does anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks!
