But i need to add to this list.

    So .... any tips?

    Lately ive been into
    Gotan Project
Talking Timbuktu ( Ry cooder & Ali farka toure)
    Kings of Leon

    Blind Melon – Nico
    Coldplay – Rush of Blood
Cordouroy – Various ( Including the all time classic –Mini)

Well I think you get the jist. I'm a fan of Acid jazz, Rocky Grungy type stuff, Jazz funk.
Been getting into a bit of the World Music scene with the African stuff.

So…..what do you suggest. I would be most grateful for any suggestions and a brief description/review, similar too etc.

It would make Santa's job a lot easier.

    Many thanks.

Why not try the following website, www.allmusic.com , and put in one of the bands that you listed. As well as a nice little biography and a breakdown of that bands albums etc. you get a section of related artists/influences.

Anyway hope this might help you out, and I hope Santa brings you something nice :)

Similar to what BL21DE3 (good to see you round these parts :D ) says amazons "you may also like...." reccomendations can be good! A good chunk of the stuff on their has reviews and short sound clips.

Accesible world music wise Nitin Sawhney is a good place to get in there. Lots of *fans* on here and worth a go! Talvin Singh is another good one.

Have a look on the reviews and rec's thread on here too.

Blind Melon? Is this a new album or an old one? Thought they'd faded into distant meMOry!

You might want to try any of the Buddha Bar CDs. There are five volumes, and in my opinion 2 and 4 are the best.

I found the Gotan Project through these. They can be a bit, well, cheesey I suppose, but there is some great stuff on them.

Bit expensive, but they can be found fairly reasonable if you have a good shop around. Hmm, maybe not ideal for xmas list then really.

    Still worth a listen though.
