I've just bought this with the intent of connecting it to a 140, and whilst I was well aware I needed to get Din to Phono plugs I hadn't noticed that the phono at the back for the record deck was non-standard issue. How do I connect phono plugs to these connections, can I get converters easily or am I going to have to wait even longer to try it out:confused:
    Thanks in advance

They're BNC connectors, Maplins will set you BNC->phono adaptors for next to nothing or you can get your armleads reterminated.

What Ian said, only phono --> BNC. If you are planning to keep the 62, or stay with Naim, then get the arm leads reterminated, as all Naim preamps have BNC connectors for the phono input, DIN for everything else.

Yep I've tracked some down, will be picking them up on the way home. Will be using cheap din-phono's for the time being. Will splash out when I'm sure that it's the right thing for me. Have got proper naim speaker wire for the power amp though. Got it for nowt off a friend.:)

    Tis BNC, not DIN.

You know I don't really know, just that they are MM ones, and as my cart is a high output MC they should be fine. Is there a difference apart from that? I know the pre was serviced late in 2000. Other than that I'm afraid I know nowt, except that Naims idea of connections are a bloody nuisance:D

I have a high output MC as well (Clear Audio VictoryH)

The standard naim MC cards were not compatible. The MM ones were to muted.

You might benefit from asking naim about the 'intermediate' boards for your high output cart. By all means check how it sounds with the MM ones, but if you arn't happy it might be that its the cards.

    Naim interconnect facilities are fine.

Should be ok, my Ortofon is only a notch behind the Rega that went before. If it's not what will the boards set me back? Was thinking about a Snaps possibly if I can find a cheap one, new boards will knock that idea on the bonce

When I bought a NAC 42.5 Grahams swapped the MM boards for MC free of charge, even though I didn't buy anything from them. Are there any friendly Naim dealers in your neck of the woods?
