Hi can some one reccomend me an amp please
    budget around £400
cd player modified marantz cd5001 ose
    speakers modified b&w 603
    old amp was marantz pm7200
i was considering a new marantz pm7001 ki on special for £399 but s/h is fine as long as it's good with vocals and not treble harsh, could run to maybe £450 or poss £500 for the right amp
    thanks

edit....jus be aware you'll be into a new set every 6 months or so.....(a year if you don't drive them too hard)= 40/50 quid

2nd hand, maybe a Sugden A21a, or what I have now, a Unison Research Unico (hybrid). Both very good with vocals, neither harsh in any way.

And old sansui. Great amps at low, low everyday prices. Sugden fulfill similar criteria in the UK.

An upgraded Quad 405 or 405-2 can perform amazingly well.

I bought a 505-2 on eBay for under £150 and had it upgraded for £80 - all new capacitors, up to date op-amp and various other tweeks.

If you need a preamp the 304 can also be upgraded.
