mostly is avarice, to look after people and treat them as they are pupils with respect and give them service to me that is more of a long term ongoing succes for this industry, i heard some dteadfull news yesterday from dealers as well as manufarturers wicth i can not say unfortuanally yet. nando:mad:

In my own experience and those of a few others I know this industry is full of unprofessional, money grabbing snobs who work on the pretense that just because they are selling a high end product it makes them a quality company and ethical person, when it reality it's quite the opposite.

    But that's just my opinion.

    Ain't that the truth :(

There are only a handfull (if that) of high-end audio dealers/distributors I openly recommend (Walrus, SoM/Metropolis, KJwest1, Henley designs, Shadow).

The "avoid at all costs" list is much higher than the "highly recommended" list, but obviously I can't post that here, because it would mostly be libelous

I can't say I have had any bad experiences (thankfully!) Two of the smaller outlets which were extremely nice to me were Rochester Hi-Fi and Brighton Hi-Fi (not in Brighton anymore!)

I don't like Sevenoaks they are patronising but why would I buy from them anyway :p

Steven Harper @ the "Audio Consultants" is quite helpfull, but there is a real shortage of good dealers around now, they seem to be in decline.

its like everything elae in every hifi retail, some have an interest in what they sell, so that is good for the consumer, some just sell to make money, which is a shitter.

christ allmighty. this is a buiness like any other. service quality varies depending on the company and those that you deal with at the time, within said company.

you may think that your 'passion' for hifi should illicit some kind of magestic service regime but the truth is more economically simple. dealers/makers are as much trying to run a business,as trying to deal with fickle hobbiest individuals who's expenditure and the resultant margin is out of kilter with the passionate grief they cause.
