I intend to make the pilgrimage to Heathrow this year after a good few years of non-attendance.

I live in Fleet, Hants (J4A of M3) and will be visiting on Saturday 25th September 2004 if anyone else would like to meet up and share cost of travel. I can take 4 passengers and this will offset car parking charge (£10 per car!!).

Tickets are £8 on the door or £6 in advance. If you are a saddo like me and subscribe to Hi-Fi News, there will be a free ticket in the October issue (on sale 03/09/04, price £3.80 in the shops).

In any event it would be good to meet up with any other forum members, share a few cold ones and put faces to names.

    Regards,

    Steve

    thanks snoop.

certainly some brands I'd like to hear.

the bitch of it though, they include exhibitors like 'walrus' and 'midland audio exchange' - - I wonder how many of the other exhibitors - 'nottingham analogue' or 'ear-yoschino' for example actually ARENT exhibitors, just boxes being brought along by a dealer?

Its a shame they do this - I mean - talking to Tim De Pavaracini and hearing the entire EAR range of products would be worth the ticket price alone.

I wish the industry figureheads would make a bigger effort for that, I remember meeting Jim Marshall at a musical intrument trade show - and thats had a lasting impact on me.

    Oops! Happy trigger finger there!!

I think the 'names' mostly reserve their appearances for the trade day of an exhibition. I have been pleasantly surprised in the past to see and speak to people like Bob Stuart of Meridian, Richard Lord of REL and Max Townshend.

That has been possible over the past couple of years. Tim's been in the demo room, sometimes reading a newspaper. Certainly was the case in Bristol, and IIRC in Heathrow too.

I'm also planning to go. The sunday would be the better day for me, since I tend to have orchestra rehearsals on saturday mornings... i suspect just the
afternoon will be too little time to spend there...

If everyone here is going on the saturday I will try to skip the rehearsal and meet some people on the saturday, though.
