What's next ? (Southern England) Are some more worthwhile than others ? Really looking to broaden horizons rather than serious listening.
    Thanks

Hifi shows are best avoided. Go to one just to say you have done it and then call it quits.

The trade hates them, the reps have to stand around giving the same answers to the same daft questions from nerds who have no intention of buying their goods. Some nerds just go there to have a conversation with the poor reps who only want to either go home or visit the bar to get plastered to cut themselves from the hordes of hifi geeks.

Overall the things are a disaster.......even the food is rubbish.

The best one (best of a bad bunch) is the Bristol show which is held in late February at the Marriot just off the ring road.

Do not take your wife / partner because she will look upon you as a rather sad sod.

You will be better off going down the pub.

    Regards

    Mick

PS If you even comtemplate taking a back pack you are a nerd beyond salvation.

We share an office, so simply by typing this I've already lost on that one.

Pretty much confirms what I suspected, but Bristol might warrant a day trip (no back pack, hmm where to put the sandwiches ?)

Anyone know the dates for it ?

i just go to the shows to meet up with the friends i've made on audio forums now. occasionally there'll be something interesting or exciting that i want to hear / see and of course the booth babes are worth a look too. imho the best show is the little heathrow one - some really offbeat kit there that you'd never normally hear whereas the others feel a bit like a trip to a big sevenoaks sometimes. that said the last big heathrow event wasn;t bad in this respect.
    cheers

I think we should get a big zerogain meeting together at this years Bristol show. I mean a ZG dinner and even some brown booze (OK maybe some red and white booze with the meal too) - on the Thursday prior to the trade day. Im sure we could organise a few trade tickets (its the quietest day), I could get a few - hell, ZG has an industry following now - we should all qualify!!!!

    anyone?

    Bristol 26-27th feb.

The heathrow high fidelity show 2/3 april. This a smaller show but much nicer (from an exhibitors point of view). In the past we've had good feedback from the puplic too. Very little AV, mostly 2 channel.
