    Tony,

I agree. The article was good, but it seems strange that as a contibutor to this forum, Jason failed to give Zerogain a mention in his closing summary!

Most likely because RG vetoed any mention of Zerogain due to the hard time he gets on this forum regarding cables and Nordost in particular.

Or he wanted to stay impartial.

Edit: Sorry I should've mentioned that I haven't read the article.

Can't wait to check it out when I'm back in London on Monday :)

Were any other forums mentioned by name? (no pun intended :D).

PFM was I understand, as well as the usual manufacturers sites.

The Devil all but gets his name mentioned as well.

    Michael,

My colleague picked up a copy in the U.K. this morning and I have it in front of me right now. It mentions, PFM, Audio Asylum and the Naim Forum as sites to visit but no mention of ZeroGain. It also has an article about blind testing of cables and the results of those tests, which no doubt, you will enjoy reading.:D

    Enjoy the music,

    Lawrie.:D

Ah, the blind test issue aswell. Even more reason to buy this issue. Bit miffed that Jason omitted to mention ZG  .

    Michael,

after what some of us (and you in particular) have said about Hifi+ and RG in particular, its hardly surprising is it!

It's an interesting test. Under blind conditions one very expensive cable appeared to be no good at all, so RG helpfully explains it's all about system matching, that the cable would probably be lovely in a different system, and therefore reweights the results to ignore those findings. Wouldn't want to upset anyone after all.

Fair enough I suppose, but if Jason wrote the article it surprises me he didn't mention a forum he's an active member of. What's more ZG is one of only 3 meaningful, UK based, non manufacturer affiliated hifi forums I'm aware of (PFM and HFC being the other two).

    to Ian's comment.

What is the gist / perspective of Jason's article on internet forums? I just popped down to WH Smiths for a quick read, but they didn't have a copy…

James, I believe a veiled reference was made of you under the heading "wars" :D

The blind test thing really was a cop out, and even I would say it is a half hearted attempt to pander to the requirements of the ABX brigade without really understanding their position. Nice to see Jason likes QED though.

Anyone notice their stand at Heathrow outside the Nordost room ;) Also I nice picture of the Nordost mains conditioner for some reason in a totally unrelated item  No doubt we'll see a good review soon and RG will get to keep one on long term loan :D

The most sensible thing was JK's article on the ATC 150's - at last someone talking sense. You'd almost think the editorial ideas come from internet forums!

So, was the "very expensive cable" that didn't do well in blind conditions made by a company who's name means "North East" in German? ;)

Of course not Michael - it was one of their competitors :D

The rankings put Nordost top, followed by Chord. Now check out the cable manufacturers regularly advertising in RG's hallowed pages ;)

    Wars! Huh!

Yes they did like the SCM150 - but the thrust of the piece was reinforcing that there isn't any replacement for cubic inches despite all these horrible little WAF influenced boxes currently destroying the output of your source and amplifier.

Everywhere I go they tell me big speakers don't work in British rooms, but the wierd thing is they used to - before everyone became so Lawrence. I am looking forward to hearing a proper pair of speakers :D Any chance of you upgrading to the 150's?

In an ideal world, I'd go for the 300s, but I have to put up with the 100s for now.
