    Oh what to do.

Due to poor cash management :(

I need to sell one component. :( :(

    Here's my system.

    CD Transport: X-box
    DAC: Chord DAC64 :D
    Toslink: Noname 0.5m
    Pre Amp: Cyrus 3i
    Power Amp: Musical Fidelity A300cr
    Interconnect: Chord Anthem 1m
    Speakers: Cyrus CLS70
    Speaker cable: Chord Rumor bi-wire

The items i'm selling are the power amp £1050
    or the DAC £1300

Iv'e been offered £1000 for the power amp. Not much of a problem as i can still use the 3i.

    OR

an MF 3.24 dAC + cash for the DAC64

Im considering selling the power amp as illl have cash left over to put towards another.

So what im really asking is  what would you do?

Chris, Keep the dac 64 best component there, M'F amps :D humm I keep quite on this one, but you do need a decent transport, to match your dac, an X-box won't cut it, you will be missing so much, along with your choice of transmission medium
to assist the milling throngs answers mate, could you tell room size, what sort of musical prefernce, and what you want to do in the future. WM

Chris - you'll find that Musical Fidelity products for some reason have a bad reputation on this forum (unfairly IMO) so you're likely to get everyone saying, sell the A300cr.

Even though I have nothing against MF products, I would also say sell the A300cr and keep the DAC64. The DAC64 is one of the best digital front ends around and, whatever your views on MF, the A300cr certainly doesn't have that kind of elevated status.

You already have an offer on the table for the MF - I'd take it. If you sell the DAC64 you'll only regret it :)

    Michael.

If money's tight, sell the power amp and buy something cheap on the secondhand market for now. You can pick up ancient, still-functioning power amps that are of OK quality for not much money on ebay, for example.

Just boot the MF and run the Cyrus 3i as an integrated. Bass will be a bit soft (even softer :D) and they don't going like loud much or difficult speakers IME but it'll do for now.

    Cheers

I think i get the idea.

I really enjoy the DAC64. Ive only had it for two days (Damn this hobby).

To be honest if i sell the amp i dont see me buying MF again. Had an EXCLUSIVE Nuvista CD, only for it to be overtaken by the TRIVISTA. Same kind of thing with the amp A300cr, now A308.

Cant bare the thought of losing so much money on the amp, thats all. :(

Oh well, the power amp it is.

I'm new to this forum thing. It's really quite good :)

    Thanks for the advice

    Chris

I listen to anything with a good beat. 70's funk, jazz, a bit of disco. Cant get my head around classical at the mo, eventhough got a half decent collection. room dims 15' x 14.5'

In 2 days you've discovered that the dac 64 is good, and it's time to ditch the MF300, It took me 10 seconds to relise the 308 was the same :D
I reckon, when your over next time mike, you should 'Have to' listen to a 308 for your punishment :p
Further more, having to 'Listen to :D ' the AM 'Free' recitial on Claraniet, ultimate piss-take if you ask me, to rob you for the amp, then 'have to endure his music, now that's marketing :kneel:

They probably never left the box, such was the hurry to "move it on".
