Is there a 63A supply (single phase is fine) available? Although im not sure how a small hotel room would handle 20kw of EAW and lab gruppens, :JPS:

Actually mr cat, I can well imagine the logistical hell of moving and setting up (in a short space of time) of some systems that I've seen and heard . It could be well worth it or end in tears.

I'm guessing the reviews afterwards could probably fuel bitchy forum wars for a long while.

Anyway, I don't mean to be negative but like others I can see positive and negative aspects of this event. I'd still like to attend (and help) if I can.

P.S. I think it would be easier for us to visit each others homes for bake-offs etc.

I agree that the theory maybe better than the reality - but these kind of events happen for other hobbies, I can't see why this won't work tho...forums wars aside - this could be a good craic and hopefully bring us closer together :)

There's no way I would consider moving my system just to show it off. Mohammed can come to the mountain, if he likes.

Devil, maybe time to leave this thread to those who like the sound of the event, no need to put people off is there?

    mmm....yes

This appeals to me more than a "proper" show.

I would like the chance to hear some DIY speakers , big pro amps, tensons modded behringers etc.

Sounds good to me...............but its a right chew for the peeps who are taking kit ;)

Whilst the thought of moving my big unweildy speakers puts me off bringing my own gear, I'd love to attend an event like this. And having seen bits on the telly about classic car shows, it looks like a great opportunity for enthusiasts to get together and enthuse, rather than a bragging event. Great idea!

    Hi Guys

Wish you all the best for this sounds like fun, but hard work. Having been involved in shows my self it is certainly demanding. One thing that you would all need to check out would be insurance for the show. Accidents and theft are a potential problem IME.

I wish I lived on the main land if I did I would love to be involved.
As to forum wars as most people seem to belong to many Forums at the same time;I don't think this would be a major issue. If it was that would be a pity and very sad. There are many different ways to approach this hobby and very few can be described as being wrong. Different strokes for different folks. I know we don't all like the same stuff but surely if you have nothing good or positive to say silence might be the best policy, except sometimes see my comment below. I have held my tongue for awhile but no more. Could Mr G's comments in hi-fi plus issue 62 be about this sort of thing ?or person ?

Mr Devil, I think your signature says a lot about you ( Why would you name yourself after the Father of lies, mischief, destruction, deception, etc ?) . Here to help? Really! Why not change your name to Mr Negative or Mr Mischief. Just a suggestion. No doubt you will come back with a clever or witty repost, character based attack etc. I think all of that is wearing a bit thin IMHO.
I do believe in freedom of speech but some like to abuse it, I think, and not think before they post, or maybe they do ??????

    I agree, for once.

By the way, I have ATC active 100s, and would have to hire a van to transport those alone. What would be the point? If you want to hear ATCs, contact a dealer. I don't read any of the hifi magazines these days, but from previous experience, Roy Gregory comes across as an illiterate idiot to me.

I can think of many reasons why someone might be willing to uproot their system for a day; hopefully there will enough takers to make this a viable proposition.

Although the prospect of taking my main system apart is too big a step for me personally, I'll make an open offer to anyone on this forum within a reasonable drive of Andover or en-route to the event to give any help with disassembly, shifting and reassembly that is needed. Also happy to chip-in with petrol costs or even costs of van hire if that was necessary.

Let's keep this positive and maybe we'll end up having a good day out.

Not sure you want to re-ignite these old flames Joseph. As you know bringing arguments here from other forums is against the AUP.

I think this could be interesting but would my back hold up...?
    35kg's per speaker. ~30kg amp.
Need to find a partner to lug and help hifi mind.

    How much would it cost?
    Is classic gear allowed?
    How big is the room?

Bubble wrap and luggage trolleys a must.

As far as I am aware only Wigwam were actualy asked - but many people are a member of more than one forum - I wouldn't hold your breath for any definitive list of equipment untill pretty much the last second (even then I would treat that with a pich of salt).
