    Hi,

Here's a picture of the system I had on show. I've misplaced my camera so I didn't take any photos. This one was done by Pete(I should Coco)

Dean, how do you rate the class A Marantz? I've always liked the look of it but never got round to hearing one.

    Tony.

    Agreed

The greatest shame was that those exhibiting had limited chance to get round the exhibition. I ran out of time and I was just a visitor.

    Thoroughly enjoyed it.

    Hi Tony,

I rate it highly. It sounds very good. I think it's a great piece of kit. I remember this amp from the early 80s and lusted after one. I picked this one up on Ebay. I use in Class A mode. Very good sound quality.

It got alot of interest from many punters. Many lusting after it as well. I met one bloke at the show who used to own a pair of the Marantz MA5 monoblocks which were also part of the Esoteric range.

I'll echo the thumbs up for the Marantz - it was contributing to one of the best sounding kits in the show. IMO.
& never ran out of steam from what I heard.

I was gutted I never found your room Dean.
I didn't get a lot of time away from my kit and when I did I struggled to find everything I wanted to hear. Sorry.

Dean's set up sounded very nice playing some Jimmy Smith when I was in there. And having recently picked up a PM4, I can understand why.

Dean, do you still run the Rock as your main TT?

I see that Max has just released a new base model that looks like a return to roots design, and looks a lot of deck for £1k.

    Hi Phil,

I'm sorry I didn't get to met up. I couldn't get out as it was only me running my room. I would have liked to have heard the Karan with the Living voice speakers.

There was a lot of interest in the Living Voice speakers. One person commented that it seemed like a meeting of the Living Voice fan club due to the number of these speakers at the show.

    Hi Rob,

The Rock is not my main turntable. I first had one when I was a student in the 80s. I blew a big chunk of my grant on one! I use an Avid Acutus. I was tempted to bring that along but it wouldn't fit in the car with the rest of the stuff.

Would have been interesting though. Conrad Mas, (owner of Avid) popped into my room for a chat and a listen. Would have been a nice surprise for him.

Well, it seems I was wrong. The event was heaven for all concerned, except for two people, which is a fair result.

But what sort of Hi Fi show has no cable dancing?

Looked like it went very well, fair play to those who organised it.

It was a great event, thanks to all those who took part and those who visited me in room 87 'The married in semi under £1500 quid system'.

I had a quick wonder about and only managed about 6-7 rooms, but there was some great music being played and very good sounding systems.

It does look like fun, if it had been close I'd have probably popped in.

Cudos to those willing to cart their equipment up a motorway. The thought of moving my own stuff to an event fills me with dread at the thought!!!!! - like moving home on a small scale - but no new house.

Great idea though, well done to all concerned IMO.
