Sounds a bit odd, but Badly Drawn Boy is one of my neighbours and he is performing at the local church hall for the local arts festival. Tickets are being sold at a local record shop, you have to have ID to proove you're local so I am going down there as soon as they go on sale.

I've seen him perform at the Apollo at a charity gig and he was very good, very funny and witty.

I've always heard he comes across as a miserable git on stage

Not when I saw him, he was cracking jokes comparing Dylan to Johnny Marr, he really managed to engage the audience. In real life (I have seen him quite a few times in my local record shop and once in my local pub) he probably is a misserable git but then I didn't say anything to him to find out.
