If I get one of these (or similar):

What else will I need? I figure with an ADC, Mic Pre and a copy of Logic (all of which I have) I should be able to cobble something together. Play white noise through speakers? (one at a time ?). Record what's happening in the room? Anything else? As always, any advice is appreciated.

    Get a copy of ARTA

    http://www.fesb.hr/~mateljan/arta/

Logic isn't made for acoustic measurements, so it doesn't really generate the right test signals or have the facilities to properly analyse the results. ARTA does, and it's free.

Tenson-Thanks for the link but alas I'm Mac/Linux and it looks to be PC only. I've only just deleted my Windows partition too!

Good software and worth running a windows partition for it.
Its the only reason I suffer windows on my mac :)

You can make the partition very, very small. OS + 500mb or so for the software.

I don't know, but it might run under wine on Linux.
