How do you like your port?

    hi dev so is port,:) get a life means get real port, what we are discussing hear i think is about speaker design! correct me if i am wrong, apologies about soap's name, that was harsh of me to mention :)

    Another vote here for the room dictating the answer. Sadly my houses and family have never permitted speakers to be more than a foot or two from a wall, so front ports win every time...

    I was refering to both port the drink and the bass performance of speakers.

    Unsealing speaker boxes tends to spoil the texture and flavour of the bass.

    You tend to get better bass performance by listening to and feeling air controlled by large cones instead of having bass produced by cones plus some air wafting in and out of a hole.

    IMO, most ported speakers don't time aswell as good infinite baffle designs.

    Otherwise, I'll take vintage to drink thanks.
