    Wow good quoting of long words assuming they enforce a point!

    Yes you are TOTTALY correct, the ability of a body to denature alcohol is the complete answer. It is also 100% to do with the primary toxic effects.

    Apology. The interesting bit was according to the article higher percentage of Asians has high level of this enzyme to help their body to break down alcohol faster.

    On the other hand some people also has high level of aldehyde dehydrogenase causing severe acetaldehydemia which produces the alcohol flushing response, characterized by facial flushing, tachycardia and drowsiness. These unpleasant symptoms makes us think they cannot tolerate the devil's drink. Which is true but then again probably serve as a good “protective †factor against developing alcoholism that is if they stop drinking before it could do serious harms.
