That RS1 is a bit pricey!

You can get them brand new for around £600 or less!

Can bargain them down though hehe :D

Still to my ears the AKG K1000 are far superior, but then I own some so I'm biased :p

I haven't heard the CD3K, but I'd be interested too...

My Arcam Aplha 9 CD and Cyrus 3 for now. I know people say to use them with a valve amp but I changed the cable to a pure silver one, which fixes the problem with brightness so they work just fine with transistors now :)

Still, I hope to get a nice tube amp soon. I am looking at a Cayin A-88T...

What are you driving the CD3k's from?

BTW, do you know someone from Cyrusunofficial has stolen your lovely 'monoblocks' (as someone put it) from your avatar?! Rather cheeky I'd say! ;)

They've stolen my bouncy chest? Shockin!

I am drivin the CD3000 from an X-Can v2 at the moment, but I am going to listen to an X-Can v3 tomorrow. If that doesnt work out, I'll probably try the Perreaux SXH-1 (I'll have to buy that blind though). I quite like the v2 but theres something about it that I dont like. Today I read about a channel imbalance on the v2. I always thought for some reason it seemed louder in one channel. Apparently this affects all v2s. No wonder I didnt get on with it...

Apparently the Audiovalve RKV Mk2 and the K1000 is a beauty of a combo....

I know someone with a pair of CD3K's who runs them straight out of his source line out.

I am not exactly sure how he does it but I would guess he just put a nice pot like an ALPS Blue in the line out.

You should ask him about it. It must sound pretty good as he knows his headphone stuff! He owns/runs a Singapore headphone forum.

Sign up and have a look - www.sgheadphones.com

Signing up is free and easy, then just post a question about it in the equipment forum! Everyone is very kind and knowledgeable there.
