As featured at bakeoff, Hue and Cry- the Best of, is only £6.99 at Amazon!! What an absolute steal.

Fantastic tunes, with great timing as a must

Get yours in quick, before they go up again

    n.b. they've also got a SACD but it ain't worth £20!!!

cheeky kids, thats Sir Elton to u..

Glaswegian song-meisters who went from pop for grown-ups to pseudo jazz. They should be the in thing with all this NorahJones/swing/RobbieSinatra-shite about today.

A tasteful clever Scottish duo/band which will probably now sound like a lot of similair but much poorer stuff thats fashionable. Ive got 2 of their albums if that says anything good/bad about it Mo!

    Hue & Cry !!!!!!!

Jezuz, that takes me back [and to the lower depths of my CD Cabinets].

I have pretty much every H&C album you can still buy and a few you can't.
Rory, I even have that SACD you mention :shame:.

Would I recommend them to anyone ?
Probably not but they have some great tunes. Album-wise (for those that don't know) probably best to go for 'Remote' or 'Stars Crash Down'. 'Remote' use to be available at mid-price with the additional 'Bitter Suite' live CD (Recorded on the Renfrew Ferry, on the Clyde in Glasgow.). Kind of an unplugged set with originals and Sinatra/Kate Bush covers.

Maybe a bit too "filo-fax lounge" for the GH regulars.

Nice to hear about them again though :).

I bought my dad the yellow brick re release a few MOnths back. There's a few undisputed classics on there yes. But I find some of his MOre MOdern stuff poor. They don't make em like they used to!

I agree with MO - his last album with any real merit was Sleeping with the past - most of his later stuff including that shocking Diana single should be swept under the carpet - quick.

Goodbye yellow brick road is a classic indeed though - nice drum sound. I prefer the cover of his latest "best of" to "The very best of Elton John", but the quality over quantity ratio is better on the earlier best of.

I got his best of on Laserdisc for £1 in MVE a few months back - he he he - nice cheesy videos :)
