    unfair I know with someone looking for advice, and smacks of the infamous Monty Python salesman, but had to giggle seeing this

    he thinks he can biamp by running more cables from his CD player to two separate Marantz integrated amps

    of course, you need a pair of CD players too, and disable one channel on each, with a metal linking rod across the play buttons to start them simultaneously ... :D

    I would put him right, sensibly but HFC doesn't let me post from AOL

    My CD player has twin outputs so there is no reason this couldn't be done. The problem would come in setting the volume levels of the two amps to balance the bass and the treble.

    actually, rereading and beig more generous I think he's already got a marantz 7200, which does not have pre-outs, recognises that said amps are cheap and so is looking to see how he cd stack another one on. Still seems daft to me however. Maybe he has successfully gone from motorbike to car by gluing two motorbikes together and wants to extend the principle...

    marantz pm7200 does have preouts- to biamp, get 2 Marantz MA6100 mono power amps :rolleyes:
