I [heart] Huckabees

Having missed this at the cinema, Mrs H and I watched this DVD last night.

For those who don't know the film, the plot summary from IMDB is thus:

'Determined to solve the coincidence of seeing the same conspicuous stranger three times in a day, Albert hires a pair of existentialist detectives, who insist on spying on his everyday life while sharing their views on life and the nature of the universe.'

Despite falling asleep several times during the film, Mrs H thought it 'very good'. My own view is that was slightly better than average (though had I shelled out for cinema tickets I might have felt short-changed). It's a clever film, but not as clever as it thinks it is, and personally I found Jude Law intensely irritating, though Mrs H thought he was convincing in the role.

So I'd give it six out of ten. As Dr Johnson said of the Giant's Causeway: 'Worth seeing, but not worth going to see'.
