I love them I really do. Just come back from my local with 2 LP's by the band, one of them the Brown Album on 180g vinyl, a 1997 remaster in near mint condition. A couple of Rush albums 2112 and farewell to kings, as well as in the court of the crimson king. Total outlay £25.
    Who needs CD's

Yeah I love them too, you can get some really good bargains and stuff you can't buy on CD. I was in my local record shop yesterday (Kingbees, quite well known within the muisc idustry) and I was searching records next to Badly Drawn Boy (its his local record shop as well).

if u haven't seen this thread at hifiplus , i'm a recent convert too ! [edited to add]bought a project debut II SB "all-in-one" ex-demo.[/edit]

everyone should have a turntable, it's great fun, almost as much fun finding and buying records, as playing them. i bought a mint copy of "the wall" for £7 on wednesday.

i also bought some polythene slip covers from bangbangrecords.com which came yesterday, so spent an enjoyable half hour putting my recent acquisitions into them (about 50 in 2 weeks).

check this page ! http://aca.gr/turntable_a.htm wow there are some mad looking t/t's there !

as an aside, does anyone know where you can buy polythene slip covers for gatefolds (online preferably) ? i've seen pvc ones, but knowing they can damage sleeves by sticking to them over time, want to avoid them.

now i cant decide if i want a tecnodec, a notts horizon, or a roksan radius, and who knows for a phono preamp?, but i'm saving anyway. (and dont start me on carts ! .... thinks blue point special)
