....I'm gonna smash my TV into tiny little pieces. Ugh, it's horrible, whiny, sickly.........cack. Why does it have to be on as background music to loads of programme adverts as well advertising the album? Eh? It's hard enough avoiding it on the radio without it sneaking onto the telly all the time too!!!!!!!!

Lol, I think he has a really annoying voice, but the track 'No Bravery' is not too bad. That 'Your Beautiful' song is so bad though! I mean come on he saw a woman on the train and thought she was fit. What a crap song! I bet the girls think he is really sensitive though ;) He reminds me of tom McRae, but I like him. Time for another :guiness:

I hate Blunt James... that song bugs the hell out of me. Can't even go to the pub to avoid it!

Agreed. When I'm in the car its guaranteed (along with anything by Coldplay) to make me change the radio station the nanosecond it starts playing.

Lol. I had to check it on Limewire to find out, but when I heard it I realised that I had heard him before and didn't like it much!

James Blunt SUCKS. How can women equate "sensitive" with "whinging girly-boy"? His voice is even more annoying than Geoff Buckley's on "Grace", and that's saying something.

The music's fine - it's his ultrasonic screech of a voice that puts me off...

Jeff Buckley was a talented songwriter, but nowhere near as good as his old man...

Great - I bought his CD a few weeks back and haven't had a chance to listen to it yet. Having said that, now you have all slated it I'll be expecting the worst and will probably therefore quite like it!

Well I gave it a spin - Jesus how long did it take me to get around to listening to a new CD?

Anyway, after all your comments I wasn't expecting much and as a consequence I really liked it. Okay so I can see how his voice might grate on some people - just as Jeff Buckley or Richard Thompsons - neither of whom annoy me.

So, yes, a pretty decent album - especially track 7 with that little riff from Riders on the Storm sneeked in at the end.

Your Beautiful is a fine song - perhaps overplayed - but can you imagine the record companies face when they heard that one - talk about instant hit! One thing really grates with me on that song though and that's his use of the F word instead of "Flying High" on the single version - the F word just sounds so out of place with him singing it and it doesn't really sit well with the rest of the lyrics IMO.

I heard the NME banned him from their awards for being "too boring" - mmm I guess leading 30,000 troops as the first British officer to enter the Kosovan capital must seem pretty boring compared to going to loads of gigs and writing about them!

btw his real name is James Blount but it was thought that Blount was too posh (he's from a very wealthy upper class family) for the masses so he changed it to Blunt for his music career...

A comedian on the Portuguese Antenna 3 morning radio show did an excellent "music for chicks" p1ss take out of "Your Beautiful".
