    Question,

I have a marantz cd6000 ose le connected to a NADC350 amp via a Cambridge audio interconnect. I then have a couple of metres of QED silver anniversary bi wire running to Mordaunt Short MS902 Signatures.
From my listening position they are at ear level and slightly toed in and just off the wall. The room is about 4 mtres by 5 metres with a fireplace in the centre in between the two speakers.
A window is to the left as you are facing the speakers.
Furniture wise the room has a sofa and a chair, both blue cloth, wooden floors and the walls are painted in a creamy beige with a picture behind the listening position and a freestanding bookshelf along the wall opposite the window. The sound produced is crystal clear, slightly bright, but nonetheless very engaging. Voices are sublime and the detail is most impressive, with just enough bass for my taste. So the question is, bearing in mind all these affective factors, when I am listening to my hifi what biscuits do I dunk in my tea???

    Regards
    Greg

oh dear you have to upgrade your system, if you haven't been infected yet, you don't know what you are missing. Upgrade is the story, buy buy buy mains conditioners, green pens, racks, damping materials, better things, don't ever stop caus if you are happy with what you have, you haven't seen the light. spend.

Ahh, but if your GINGER NUTS are wired out of phase then you are certianly BAHLSEN, with or without the Queen Mary.

Definitely 'Ginger Nuts', although I believe that supermarket own brands will do the job.

I suggest a 50% biscuit dunk for about 1.6 seconds (assuming boiling water was used for the tea and that it has been poured within the last 5 minutes). This should impart a subtle ginger flavour to the tea and the biscuit itself will be a joy. Take care that if you're going for a 1.6 second dunk you lift the biscuit out in a vertical alignment, otherwise you risk a nasty ginger break off.

The second dunk should be 50% of the remaining biscuit. After the third and final ginger dunk I recommend switching to a 'Rich Tea', reducing the dunk time to about half a second and the biscuit quantity dunked to approximately 20%.

After you have dunked one Ginger Nut and a couple of Rich Teas, take the remaining liquid and pour it carefully over the equipment. Time for an upgrade.

Over the equipment? Shouldn't that be 'over the speakers' ;)

    GPC,

I guess that it assuming you have followed the instruction to brew your tea in a teapot with freshly boil water for 4 minutes. Then pour a small quantity of milk into the cup first before adding the tea.

I think this procedure is important as it is about the right amount of time required for all your HIFI to warm up to the right temperature.

Now as to what biscuit to use that is too difficult. Let me sleep on this for the night. Ginger nut is a good choice but then again.....what about cream crackers...

Go to sleep while not tired and listen to your HIFI. Make sure all the other electrics in the house (this is often best to do at night) and you will find your HIFI has never sounded so good.

I also find FM radio sounds so much better at night. I did know the scientific explanation for that.

I'd make sure you have a couple of big joints stuffed to the hilt with fine pollen. You won't worry about the type of biscuit anymore, just he quantity.
