I did take the liberty of sking my sister for her view.......so a female slant on it fwiw...could be a few helpful points....

"Getting angry, ignoring her - likely result, no girl

Thinking she is manipulating you - wrong girl or lack of understanding

Huge OTT gestures will probably be inconvenient or will clash with something.

Most sensible advice was to say sorry, I forgot or I didn't realise how important it was. Ask her what she would like to do. Come up with some ideas and together plan something fun.

I agree that if she did not remember, then she is on a weak footing. Appreciation works both ways.

    Post that if you want"

.....not sure as she got all the gritty details, but i think shes got a few points...

You forgot her birthday and christmas too?

    Once is happenstance.
    Twice is coincidence.
    Three times is conspiracy.

I received an email from a colegue working in Cebu on Valentines day. He was taking his wife out for a meal, she hardly drinks so he had 2 bottles of Barolo lined up.
He explained to me that it would mean he could have his wicked way with her, then the next morning he can tell her that a sore ass is part of a normal hangover.
Just wondering if this approach may work for AT?

It was a bit confusing :) We talked about splitting up due to the fact this can never be a long term thing, but both decided just to enjoy it while it lasts.

Yeah, those Toys 'R' us adverts are real subtle :D

Seriously AT,just roll with it,enjoy and see what happens.

At the end of the day, if you do split up, you haven't lost anything you didn't have before you met her(unless she took your cherry ;) )and you've gained valuable experience.

Unless you really set out to make good things happen, it's over now.

Sorry, that sounds excessively negative, but once 'the end' is in sight... you have to choose to avoid it. That's not necessarily negative at all - but it does mark a certain change in attitude, so be clear in your own mind about the things you do want from / have to give in/ her company, and fer pete's sake, talk about ...stuff. Any stuff: it's not that every conversation has to be deep and meaningful , but communication is central to any and all relationships. Getting to deeply understand what the tone of voice, the look, that smile means is part of life's rich tapestry, and it comes only little by little - so set out to enjoy it all :)

Mr Trade, you sound like a self absorbed selfish little man. You do not deserve a girlfriend.

Sort yourself out or prepare to live your life through a flurry of short lived relationships. Not nearly as exciting as it seems.

Rather the same one scratching her arse than finding a new one scratching crabs.

    AT,

FWIW and IMO and IME etc. etc: this is the LAST place you should look for or expect to get good advice on something like this. We are all sad, blokeish, loser anoraks here, by definition.

And if you didn't already know that when you posted your original query, it should be blindingly obvious from the general tone of the replies you've got - frankly deranged, most of 'em!!!! ;)
