Integrated vs pre/power

    Greetings all, first post :)

    My dealer informed me the other day that all anyone is looking for these days are integrated amps. Whether on a budget or throwing large quantities of dosh around nobody wants to go the pre/power route anymore. Worrying for him as he's a Naim dealer.

    Agree/disagree??

    a number of boxes seems to be important in modern homes.

    I assume you mean the lack of?

    What intrigues me is are integrated amp's so good these days that it's all anyone needs...

    If you just use CD, you probably don't need a pre, either a passive TVC or perhaps a really good DAC with a passive volume control, I have been listening to my DAC plugged straight into my power amps, sounds excellent.
