I've recently purchased Nordost Blue Heaven speaker cables, which made a huge improvement to my system. Currently the components are:
    CDP- Accuphase DP55V
    Amp- Sugden A21SE
    Speakers- Tannoy Saturn 6
    IC- Kimber PBJ
    Speaker cables- Nordost Blue Heaven
I just loaned a Red Dawn IC from the dealer, and it betters the Kimber in some ways (more clarity, speed, dynamics), but the midrange is a little thin and a bit bright in the top.

I was thinking of buying Nordost Baldur IC's as they are apparently a big improvement on the Red Dawns. However, I am also considering:

    Nordost Heimdall
    JPS Labs Superconductor FX
    Kimber KS 1021
    Audience AU24
Harmonic Technologies Pro Silway Mk III

I am basically looking for more transparency, better soundstaging and dynamics than the Kimber PBJ's I have. The tonal balance at present is decent, but more top end extension and bass would be wonderful.

Do you have any recommendations from the above list for my system, or other IC's I should consider???

    Cheers

Try out one of Zanash's cables and give him a PM, he makes superb I/C's at the fraction of the price of comercial based cables.

for all it's worth, the L.AT. IC 300 i think is super, very natural in all aspcts, worth a listen, on sale or return basis, needs a hell of a long time to run in, aprox. 120 hours, but so most. nando

Would suggest you run it for some hours before making a judgement, the mid and top will then improve,if you like the Heavens then give it time.

I tried Heimdel speaker cable,it was brand new out of the box and it had the same qualities as you describe, but not now :)

The Coherent wires are very good indeed. They are tuned to a certain type of listener, so a home audition will remain mandatory.

Before this turns into the gay forum i would like to recommend Zanash's interconnect too. Had it for a couple of hours listening now and Zanash doesnt know yet but i am keeping it. Its as though the music has been washed and polished, thats the only way i can describe it. Hearing things i didnt hear before. Dont let him come round to your house or you will want to buy other goodies too. God i need more money from somewhere. Jim.

Please dont take offence, but are you sure the speakers are up to it ?

Some of those cables seem a little pricey, for use with such a vinyl wrapped mid priced floorstander ?

As for increasing the above, particulary bass and treble extension, by adding a cable you should only be getting better definition, but it will or should not alter the system resolution or its character enough to bring those sort of increases in performance should it not ?

Thats a very good point ......some of the cables are the price of a new set of speakers. May be you need to have the gear that can utilies the extra clarity these cables would offer first ?

If you like the speakers general sound but are looking for greater frequency response, why not consider adding a sub and a supertweeter.

Alternatively, you could look at larger Tannoys.

Another vote of confidence for Zanash's cables. For the price, simply awesome.
