interested in valves

    i've just boguht a valve amp for my car, vlave pre amp stage only, im interested in getting some kind of valve amp for home use. also for a while been thinking about making some sort of amp. probably being a complete tit but have been thinking of maybe taking something like a a&r a60 and giving it a valve preamp stage? me being silly or???????

    are there anyother things i could buy and put together ideally around or below £150

    I reckon you best bet would be the world audio design kits, but I think they may be a little more than your budget. Perhaps you could stretch a bit further though.

    most valve power amp kits have the option of being turned into integrateds.

    Its just a volume pot, a selector pot and some wiring anyway..

    Your biggest problem is the budget, 150 quid for a kit is very very low.

    WAD do one for oh... I cant remember about 200 - BL21DE3 is just making one.

    Its very decent for the cash.

    SIDESHOWBOB has one of the above in kit form that he never got round to making. Maybe he'd flog it to you if you ask nicely!? you'd have to ask him

    Bottleneck, I would be making one if they'd confirm when they're shipping the bloody thing to me! I opted for the new revised Kel84 at around £350, the Kecl82 at £195 might be within Matthews budget range.
