Hi. I am brand new to this and am hoping someone can help. I am running a ProJect A1 turntable through an Audiolab 6000A amplifier. Occasionally, when I change the record or even turn it over, when I restart there is no sound and I have to turn the amp off and on again to make it work. Does anyone know what could cause this please?

A very unusual problem there and the best I can come up with is that the vol on the amp is being left up high when records are being changed (maybe?) and the thump from the internal phono stage in the Project is causing the Audiolab amp to go into protection. Hence switching amp off then on clears the fault.

Thanks. That sounds a possibility. I will try reluctantly turning the volume down or at least be more careful when changing records. Thanks for taking the time to respond.
