    or does silver plastic just look cheap , nasty and silly.
    you know , now a days if you want a new telly , chances are its gotta be silver.
    brushed alliminum looks great but plastic?
    i mean really?

    Yep - silver plastic is cheap and tacky. Why Lexus decided to splatter it all over the centre console of their RX300 (luxury SUV) I have no idea. My mate has one, and that centre console is just horrid - makes the dash of a late '80s Lada feel like quality by comparison.

    From a design point of view, anything that's trying to be something it isn't looks cheap and tacky... Plastic can look really nice if it is done well, but silver plastic is obviously trying to look like metal, and it just doesn't work...

    Just wait till they start putting plastic "carbon fibre" effect panels on hifi.
    Real CF looks good though.

    there are advantages to looking cheap.I told my wife I hadn't spent much on the Sugden gear,and she quite rightly believed me when she saw it.Luckily.
