Wouldn't of thought it was the end. Moorgate have been shifting loads of cyrus stuff for ages at similar prices.

If you take a look here you'll see why dealers are selling their existing demo equipment !

Updated models same price, the dealers ain't that happy as they have to flog off their stock cheap or the customers that have just brought new.

    Hi,

This is not uncommon. As new stuff comes on the market, old stuff need to be sold. Sometimes dealers can get special deals if they buy so much stock. they can then sell at a cheaper price.

Dean, I don't think they were told, I know one dealer who's very pissed off as they had just brought a load of new stock.

    Hi andy,

This happens as well. There seems, at times, to be a pecking order with certain dealers. Some get better deals & service from manufacturers/suppilers than others.

    not quite.

Farad Azima founded Mission Electronics in 1977.

Cyrus was established in 1984, as a brand of Mission Electronics.

1992 Verity Group plc, formed by the merger of Mission and Wharfedale plc,
purchased a number of other companies including Quad.

To create distinct brand identities, the international distribution of Mission and Cyrus products was separated in 1994.

In 1998 Cyrus Electronics was established as an independent company within what had now grown into the NXT Group.

Summer 2004 - NXT is in advanced negotiations to sell its hi-fi manufacturing business Cyrus Electronics, saying it is unwilling to invest further capital to make new products.

I understand Cyrus has recently had a management buyout. so now owned by Peter Bartlett, MD, et al.

I just can't get over what hifi, every month, the previous thing is lambasted, and something new is there, the way it goes, things 12 months ago would be unlistenable.
ie cyrus 8, bass is superlative, midrange neither laid back nor forward, the cyrus 7 was no slouch, but they have laid down a gauntlet....

now a new cyrus, well the previous 8 was seriously good, but wow, this is a great amplfier, they have really surpassed themselves here, deserving a good pat on the back for the boffins....

    you get the picture.

LCD - exactly - last September, the NAD C521BEE CD player was given tons of praise and won a product of the year. In the issue after, the Cambridge Audio Azur series came out and the NAD has never been mentioned since.

eeeeek, don't like the new styled remote control. It looks very Japaneesy.

C'mon Cyrus get one sourced from the UK.

I have it on good authority from a marketing guy that full page ads don't really work. If you have to go full page then it must be an even page number as that is where they are noticed?!?!?!?!? Failing that a half/quarter page plus some editorial.
