For sheer style, here are a couple of 4 door cars I really like.

Audis are very well built and in terms of styling has little competition IMO. Driving and engine qualities are another matter (RS4 etc. excepted) but getting better.

    DavidF - 775lbft.

Can't say I've been over impressed by BMW reliability - my dad's had no end of problems with his. The most solid feeling car I've ever tried (more solid feeling than the audis even, which are pretty good) is the Subaru Legacy and they have an outstanding reputation for reliability also.

PS - The Aston Rapide is my favourite 4 door ever. There's none more beautiful imo.

IMO there isn't much in it, but probably. If you believe the press both are better than Mercedes now, although I expect them (MB) to improve now that Schrempp is gone (I think he left at the start of last year).

I do like the LS... would definitely have the LS over 7 or S or A8, although the XJ has a certain charm to it.

I've always found Lexus a bit bland but I quite like the new ranges. Audis still have the edge on style IMO.

    Agreed.

    Audis and mercs.

The Jaguars are still classic looking beasties IMO...probably ergonomic/design disasters though.

The aluminium XJ has pretty much fixed that. The old XJ was cramped and had a tiny boot, and then that crippled the S type because they couldn't make it the size it needed to be otherwise it would have been as big as the old XJ... The current XJ has a gorgeously classic/classy brit interior with the emphasis more on the driver and the environment than the technotoys as in the german rivals and the lexus:

The Jag is more of a "club" feel to it, the germans are coolly efficient and the lexus is a technogeek's paradise. Mind you, my new car has a lexus-style dash, and it's brilliant:

I do very much like the look and spec of the E92. I find myself drawn to it like I was to the E30 Evo 2 (or better still the E30 Sport Evolution :) )

    V. nice pics :)

Yes, the XJ still does it for me......but I hope that wood is from sustainable managed wood land.....sorry, bu i've started thinking about these things......

The Lexus looks ,well bland for me...

    The Audis nice.....no probs

Techno geeks??? How many toys can you play with at once.....whisyt you are driving?

Since doing ( and failing BTW) the advance drivers cousre I haven't listened to a radio in a car (whilst on my own) so thats a bit of a waste...

most stuff (even my transit ) has electric windows these days.....

SO,.....the XJ would just suit me..:D

bottom pic.....which was that? the instruments?
