Not sure what to make of this. I thought there was plenty of competition for MP3 generally, even though Apple have such a large slice of this particular cake.

So, should MS be sued because there software does not work on all computers? (over90% is just not good enough):D.

I've found I can't play my vinyl on PC. It's an outrage.

I assume that the record companies have licenced the sale of music exclusively under that format. Again the issue is "should music copyright be format specific"

    ...or vinyl :)

BTW - can an iShod play uncompressed audio? Wish they'd make ANY HDD-based portable that can run on normal Duracells or NiMH AAs...

Yes you can use Apple's lossless or WAV, believe.

...and you can get a battery pack attachment for an iPod to run it off AA batteries too ;)

The iPod may yet have merit in my eyes then... :)

Right now though - off to use my 3 year old £49 Panasonic discman and 11 year old Sony (huuuuge!) on-ear cans - the only way I can keep my ears warm this time of year... Sounds OK if a bit sibilant - that's the cans' fault...

    Have a good evening, guys!

I tried the Interent radio feature in MS Media player last night as I used to use this to browse through radio stations the world over. However, it now appears you have to subscribe, bummer.

FFS How can this be and argument. Apple Store is not a monopoly, there are other options out there, is this guy a nugget or what?

No one forced him to use the service.
