Oh my word - what an amazing SACD from Telarc! Completely wipes the floor with my 70's vinyl re-issue. Incredibly punchy, dynamic bass from the kick-drum!

For those of you that don't know, JLT is a sort of jazz/classical cross-over. Sounds like a bad idea, but JLT do it very convincingly and it makes for a very different, refreshing presentation of these two genres.

    Highly recommended!

This seems to have most of the "greatest hits" (only Wachet auf (sleepers, awake) is missing).

Loussier is essentially a jazz musician who uses Bach themes as starting points, so, if you don't like jazz with its improvisations, the odds are that you won't like this either. Many Bach lovers also aren't keen. I quite like it (it helps that I like both Bach and jazz and am not mortally offended by the mixing - after all, ol' J.S. himself was a mean improviser), but I find that a little goes a long way (I also have the vinyl).

Well, Bach & Jazz lovers should be less precious if you ask me. It comes across as a well-researched/planned/executed mingling of the genres. Telarc's amazing production is the icing on the cake.

    Stunning stuff.

I also have this one on vinyl and its one of my most played LPs. I may shell out the £12.00 to hear the digi version now. Im so hooken JLs music. The quality of the vinyl recording is EXCELLENT. Wonder how the digi does?

Incidently I got this LP at a jumble sale. It was in pristeen condition and it cost all of 50p

Well dreftar, my 70's copy is obviously well played and sounding a little worse for wear these days. You absolutely will not be disappointed with the Telarc SACD, particularly if you'll be using the DSD layer.

Agree: the SACD sounds very good to my ears (Denon DVD2900 and DSD layer thru Roksan/KEF multi-channel system).
