    Anyone heard her album?

I've heard a few tunes now and they sound pretty good, though a bit samey.

Reminds me of Beth Orton with more beats and electronics.

    Is the album any good?

What I've heard on the radio sounds like Dido on a bad day, she puts no effort in what so ever.

I don't entirely agree. Good songs, excellent production, marred by a sub-Dido voice.

I've only heard a few tracks, but I'd take her voice over Dido anyday!!!

I must be missing something, I thought the voice was awful and the lyrics laughable, theres about 3 lines in the songs I've heard that she just "sings" over and over again. I've heard just arrived and the one that was out before that, not sure what its called but its a darker song about being sorry.

I have the album and in parts its music by numbers but some track are truly outstanding.

Its very accessible and is the kind of album you can listen to on repeat without getting irritated.

But like Air's Moon Safari in that respect, but not quite in the same league...

Hmm yeah...when I first heard of Gem I presumed she was 18 or something i.e. a 'new talent'. Read the other day thats shes 30 odd. Therefore can't see what the fuss is about at all. Pretty immature stuff.
